Seamless started in New York in 1999 and merged with Grubhub in 2013. However smooth the checkout feels, the fees behind a marketplace order can be anything but seamless for the people paying them.
Delivery marketplaces can charge restaurants up to 30% commission on every order, plus about 3% for credit card processing, then add a fee of up to 15% to the person ordering. All in, that can reach 48%. When you order direct from us, you pay one small fee, and that’s it. The restaurant pays no commission, which is how we keep the same menu prices you’d pay calling or visiting the truck.
